M. CH. SOMMER*, E. T. MERHOLZ, (Department of Oral & Maxillo- facial Surgery, Caritas-Clinic St.-Lukas, Solingen, F.R.G.)

Due to periodontal reasons, front teeth in the upper and lower jaw of a 25-year old woman were extracted as well as first molars in the lower jaw. The remaining dentition was treated periodontally, and removable interim prostheses were inserted. and used for period of time.

To prevent further bone loss of the alveolar ridge, implants were placed in the upper and lower front region. Bone augmentation procedures with membrane technique were performed in the implant site of the lower jaw. After an appropriate healing time, fixed prostheses were inserted. To improve soft tissue conditions, a free gingival graft was placed in the lower jaw. No relevant further bone loss was registered by radiographic monitoring in the follow-up period in the implant site as well as in the remaining dentition.

The case will be presented by clinical documentation.
